8th grade has come to an end. I will miss all of my classes, but I am ready for summer. I don't want to leave English and reading, but I am so tired of math. I hope this is the best summer ever. I say that about every summer but I hope it's true.

It's a new school year! I am excited to be back. This year I finally get to sit with all of my friends at lunch. My goals for the new year are to make it to the PA Computer Fair State competitions. I also would like to keep my grades in math up. Last year was hard but this year in algebra is even harder. I hope this year is a good one!
My 7th grade year has been the best. My favorite classes were art and English. I am really happy I met the new art teacher, but I am kinda sad because I won't have her next year. Over the summer, I hope to go to Darien Lake, Kennywood, and Cedar Point again this summer. I also hope to play a lot of Spotlight with my neighbors. The best thing about this summer though, is my little sister moving out of my room,
Red Pandas are interesting creatures. They live in the same range as Giant Pandas, and even have the same wrist bone "mechanism" for grip. They have 'panda' in their name, but they are not a bear at all! They look more like raccoons with red fur, due to its ringed tail and stocky build. This being said, they are a part of their own family- Ailuridae. Its only other relatives are extinct. Red Pandas themselves are vulnerable to extinction, according to the WWF. Currently more than 80 zoos have red pandas-which is an amazing thing considering their range which has shrunk over the years. Their main reason for becoming vulnerable is decrease of the plants where they live. They eat bamboo similar to pandas, but their diet isn't limited to that. they also spend a lot of time in the trees! Other conservation efforts include virtually adopting a Red Panda and donating money monthly to help conservation groups' causes. They do some pretty cool things. They huddle together in the cold for warmth. Probably the most well known thing they do is protecting their eggs. Once the female hatches it, she gives it to the male to take care of it. He balances it on his feet and keeps it warm under a 'pouch'. Then the female goes on a trip to the ocean to hunt. She hunts for food and eats it . Once she gets back and the chick is hatched, she regurgitates the chewed food into it's mouth. Soo... my friend Heidi suggested I write about a California King Snake becasue she has one. The California King Snakes scientific name is Lampropeltis getula californiae. It is one of the most popular snakes kept as pets, because it's easy to care for. They are found naturally on the West Coast. The weather in some regions can be very hot which affects when they're awake. They are mostly diurnal, but if its too hot they're nocturnal. The adults can reach up to 4 feet in size. They are a pretty cool snake. Specificly the Eastern Gray Kangaroo or Macropus giganteus. These types of kangaroos live in Eastern Australia and Tasmania and are commonly found living around trees. Although they like the land with more trees, they can be found in grasslands to eat. Kangaroos are herbivores, so they eat mostly plants, but can even eat insects. Kangaroos are most well known for the way they raise their young. The mother has a pouch and the baby, or joey, is born into it, where it can be the size of a grain of rice. The joey growns in the pouch for 120 to 150 days before it can come out of the pouch and live on it's own. It takes around 14 to 20 monts for a female to be fully matured and 2 to 4 years for a male. If you have anyhting else you'd like to know about these kangaroos, comment below and I'll be sure to answer you!

When I grow up I'd like to be a veterinarian, or any doctor really. My favorite animals are cats. A couple hobbies of mine are drawing, swimming, photography and playing softball. That's about it for my blog!
